Eames House Bird

We adore this black wooden bird sculpture, designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1953, almost as much as they did. Inspired by American folk art of the Appalachian mountains, their version stood in the centre of their living room for over fifty years and was used as an accessory in their photos.

Like them, we use this playful little bird in many of our children’s interior projects and design imagery.

Vitra, in co-operation with the Eames family, manufacture this original design of the House Bird.
