    Peter Rabbit’s mother, Mrs. Rabbit is going shopping and Peter and her other three children, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail go out to play. She tells them not to go into Mr. McGregor's vegetable garden. Peter's sisters gather blackberries in the lane, but Peter disobeys and goes into the garden. Having eaten too much and getting a stomach ache, he is chased and caught by Mr McGregor. Luckily, he escapes, and after more near misses and getting hopelessly lost in the huge garden, he wriggles under the gate, losing his jacket and shoes and heads for home. A cross Mrs Rabbit sends him to bed without any supper, while she and his sisters enjoy milk, bread and delicious blackberries.
