We have curated a collection of the most delightful Beatrix Potter artworks, filled with cosy, vintage charm, perfect for your children's nursery and bedroom walls. This painting is taken from story of The Tailor Of Gloucester, and our The Tailor Of Gloucester, Art Print, featuring the exquisite watercolour brushwork of Beatrix Potter, illustrates the tailor mouse reading whilst sitting on the silk thread.

The Tailor of Gloucester is a poor very hard-working man. The Mayor of Gloucester, who is getting married on Christmas Day asks the tailor to make him a jacket and waistcoat for his wedding. But the tailor has run out of silk for stitching, and sends his cat Simpkin to go buy some more. While the cat is away, the tailor frees trapped mice that the cat has captured and the cat hides the silk in anger. The tailor does not have any money with which to buy more and thinks he will be unable to finish making the mayor's clothes and will be financially ruined. But the mice, grateful for their freedom, make the clothes for him.

We all grew up with the wonderfully evocative stories and this illustration, part of our Beatrix Potter collection will look fabulous on its own or grouped together as a set.
