"Twinkle, twinkle little, bat! How I wonder what you're at!" says the Mad Hatter, reciting a poem in Lewis Carroll's classic children's story. "Twinkle Twinkle" is a wonderful woodblock illustration created by Sir John Tenniel in the 1860's for Alice In Wonderland and is part of a wider collection of iconic imagery created for the Alice novels.
This particular version was designed for
a pack of playing cards from The New & Diverting Game of Alice in
Wonderland in 1918 and is supplied in partnership with the V&A
Museum in London.
